Basic Life Support (BLS) Irish Heart Foundation Certified - Course Details

This Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR & AED in Healthcare training course is a Half Day (4 hour) programme which provides attendees the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)  associated equipment and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants. This course is certified by the Irish Heart Foundation.

Course Content

  • Introduction & Course Objectives
  • IHF Guidance and process
  • Adult and Paediatric CPR including one and two rescuer scenarios
  • Use of bag valve mask and barrier devices
  • Management of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO)
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Practical Skills and Hazard Analysis & Multiple-choice exam
  • Evaluations and Questions

 

Who is the course intended for:

The BLS CPR &AED Course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn CPR and how to use an AED and would like to receive an Irish Heart Foundation course completion card.

On successful completion of the skills assessment, attendees will receive an IHF / AHA Heartsaver CPR & AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years
