Mental Health First Aid - Course Details
Course intro:
This Mental Health First Aid training course is a Half Day course (Can be developed for a 1 day course on request) designed to provide attendees with information around the initial help offered to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or a mental health crisis.
The learning outcome from this course are:
- to empower people within our communities to address emerging mental health problems early and enable recovery
- to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental health problems
- to promote engagement with all strategies and resources available to support people experiencing mental health difficulties
- to improve attitudes towards people with mental illness and reduce stigma

- What is Mental Health first aid? How does it relate to your setting?
- How to call emergency services?
- Managing Mental Health first aid in your area.
- Review attitudes towards the person in crisis
- Evaluation

This Mental Health First Aid training programme may be beneficial to all people that have a requirement for first aid.
Entry requirements
Minimum age- 18 years old
Minimum English requirements: Leaners must be able to understand and convey the concepts contained in the programme content.
