Course intro:

This tail lift training course, is a 2.5 hr course with a max of 10 per course, designed to provide trainees with knowledge and skills necessary for operating a skip truck safely. The course involves theory, practical, video and an assessment for each learner.

Please note this course is delivered as in-house training with a practical part which must be observed and all attendees participate in.

This course is presented by an experienced Road Safety Expert

• Housekeeping and Health and Safety
• Introduction & Objectives setting
• Legislation and common mistakes made when using Skip Truck
• Relevant laws governing Skip Trucks
• Safe operating practices/Work Instructions and local policy
• Load distribution
• Securing techniques
• Safe loading of skips
• Risk Assessments and Hazards (Skip collection and drop off hazards)
• Chain inspection prior to each lift
• Inspection of the lifting equipment
• Skip selection and final checks before lifting skips
• Practical training
• Competence testing
• Questions and Evaluations

Intended audience

This Skip Truck safety course, is designed for staff who operated skip trucks to be safe and to ensure the safety of all others.

Entry requirements

Minimum age- 18 years old

Minimum English requirements: Leaners must be able to understand and convey the concepts contained in the programme content.
