Course intro:

This Irish Heart Foundation, Heartsaver CPR & AED course is a Half Day (3 hour) which provides attendees the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants.

Course content

• Introduction to CPR and AED within your setting
• Adult and Pediatric CPR video
• Internal policy around For Resuscitation and Not For Resuscitation
• Hazards such as air fed mattress, low, low beds, crash mats, wires and tubes, end of life care etc
• Relief of choking for adults, children & infants
• How to use an AED
• Skills Practice
• Assessment and IHF paperwork completion

• Learning outcome review

Who is the course intended for:

The Heartsaver CPR AED Course is for all who wants to learn CPR in a time of cardia arrest and understand the workings of an AED

On successful completion of the skills assessment, attendees will receive an IHF / AHA Heartsaver CPR & AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years
