Enteral Tube Feeding/Peg Feeding Training - Course Details

Course intro:

Balanced and adequate nutrition supports normal growth and development and healing. If the ability to eat or swallow is lost or the adult/child is unable to tolerate food, enteral feeding can sustain life and nourish and increase body weight. Enteral feeding is also used to supplement a deficient food and fluid intake. When PEG feeding is used, there are risks of bacterial contamination which can lead to infection and associated complications. Our PEG Feeding training course will teach you the correct infection control and possible complications to ensure the procedure is done safely and correctly. This course will also teach your staff what a PEG is, how nutrition and hydration are important, the procedures for administrating feed and medication, and a demonstration on how to set up equipment, the use of the syringe and recognise alarms
